In the beginning
You know how it is sometimes – you're having a conversation and you slowly begin to realise you know just what you need to do next. This was one of those kind of moments. The (not so slow) dawning that applying to do the Masters would be a smart move.
Following the opening of Peter Trevelyan's show The Light Fantastic at the city gallery we all went for some food and drinks after the event. Chatting with Pete and Shane McGrath (both who'd done the course) they said, "Gary, why don't you apply to do the Masters next year?"
It made perfect sense for where I was with my work and career. By the end of the rather wet evening I'd pretty much my decision. And only a month before the applications had no be handed in!
